MOUNT MARY CREATES BOLD WOMEN.

OUR BOLD HISTORY

Boldness is in our DNA. Its imprint can be traced back to our very beginning, when the School Sisters of Notre Dame laid the groundwork of a courageous vision and created a place of higher education for women at a time when women didn’t go to college.

Mount Mary was first chartered by the state of Wisconsin to grant degrees more than 100 years ago. It was the first four-year Catholic college for women in Wisconsin—a pioneering spirit that set the stage for a sound future of boldness in action. By our students, by our alumni, and evident in the many communities served by Mount Mary.

The leadership and vision of the Sisters created an environment where scores of women have since been transformed by creativity and compassion. Our graduates are leaders who change their world through their chosen pursuits.
